Sean Toler, Worship Pastor
The child of two Christian songwriters, I was born in Nashville, Tennessee. Following the birth of my younger brother at age two, we moved to my father’s hometown, Foley, in South Alabama.
During one of my parents’ performances at a worship service in Atlanta, GA, I responded to the call of Christ at the age of six, the day before my seventh birthday. And though I believe that my response was real, I was too afraid to come forward during that invitation.
It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I started to question the strength and even validity of my faith. I realized that though I was a “Christian”, I couldn’t say with certainty that I would follow Jesus no matter the circumstance. I wasn’t sure that I would even attend church in college if it was based on the faith I had then. So after reading through most of the New Testament late every night, I truly committed my life to Jesus, my savior and Lord.
During college, I was heavily involved with the BCM, serving as the president my senior year. I was also very involved at Montevallo First Baptist Church in the college and music ministries. After completing my undergrad degree, I led worship at Calvary Baptist Church in Foley. And before attending seminary at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and leading worship at Memorial Baptist Church, I was the youth and music minister at First Baptist Church Judsonia in Judsonia, Arkansas.
I consider it an incredible blessing to be able to serve and be actively involved in the life of Memorial Baptist Church.
